Picnic in the Park
13th to 14th January
A great day was had by all those who attended the picnic/Bar-B-Q. We had
an ideal spot to set up tables under our two large shelters. A large tarpaulin
and gazebo was also set up to provide more shade on a very muggy day.
Quite a number of people set up their tables and chairs under some
shady trees. Joe and Gordon seasoned the new Barbies ready for the cooking
up of the steaks and sausages. Most people had arrived by 11.00am. Meetings
and greetings were done and then all settled down for a few coldies
and morning tea. At 11.30am we set out for a walk around the park. Most
of the children either walked or rode their bike or skate board.
Cooking began about 12.30pm and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves.
The day became very hot, so not much sport activity was done. Later
on in the afternoon a cricket game started and a few joined in the game.
Thanks to everyone who attended, the day was good fun, with a chance
to relax and catch up with everybody after the holiday break.
About 60 club members and children attended.
Thanks,
Lorraine
