Barefoot Bowls
Friday, 23 February
A good night was had by the 39 barefoot bowlers. The night started by
paying our $6 and then forming teams for the great bowl. The evening was
very pleasant, but walking on the grass for an hour or so made the feet
get quite cold. One of the ladies wore socks she really had the right idea.
Some of the teams won by a large margin and others tied. Bowling is not
as easy as it looks. After about twelve ends we all finished up and retired
to the club room for our supper and a nice cup of tea or coffee. The bar
was also open for the beer drinkers.
Mavis ran a raffle, and it was won by Robyn Broadhead. First prize was
$10. Everybody seemed to stay around for a while and chat before going
home. It was a good night and everyone agreed we should do it again.
Thanks,
Lorraine
