Aim of the game is to have FUN!!!
First ball not out

Team 1 took to the pitch around 10.30am. To start with there was a lot of swinging, but not much hitting going on. Then Stewart took to the pitch and showed everyone how it was done. Soon after it was Graham Moore’s turn – he was determined to hit that ball, but instead clobbered the pitch, therefore earning him the title of “THE BAT BREAKER”. By 12 noon both teams had had a bat and were looking forward to lunch.

Graham, Keith, Allan, Gary and Lyn fired up the Bar-b-cue and started cooking the sausages and onions. Just as everything was cooked and it was time to eat, the heavens opened up and down came the rain. By the time we got everything under cover, the rain had stopped.

After about 45 minutes for lunch it was back on the pitch again. This time Team 2 went on first. Lunch certainly seemed to slow a few of Team 2 down, or maybe it was all the laughing. Anyway it wasn’t long before Team 2 were all out. Of course by now Team 1 had had a chance to run some of lunch off and were ready to go again. There were some big hits, with a few trying to see if they could hit a 6. Unfortunately hitting a tennis ball that far proved to be a bit impossible. By 2.30pm with the match over it was time for the post mortem and afternoon tea.

The scores for the day were:
Team 1 Team 2
1st innings 52 58
2nd innings 60 26 Congratulations to Team 1
TOTAL 112 84

It was a great day – what can I say – I had lots of fun and I would like to thank all those who came along and helped to make it a great day.

We could make this an annual event.
