Christmas Party
2 - 4 December
What a great weekend!
Approximately 100 people attended the Ipswich 4WD Christmas
Party held at Lake Dyer.
People started arriving on Thursday to set up camp for the
big weekend. The weather was a bit iffy when Joe and I arrived
on Friday afternoon – luckily for us we had already put up the tent on Thursday
afternoon.
Gary Christensen led a trip around the Laidley and Gatton districts – even
getting in some 4 wheel driving – thanks to Joe and his navigation
skills. Then back to camp for Happy Hour.
After dinner we got together for a Christmas Trivia evening.
It’s amazing how little we really know about Christmas and some of
the traditions. Even the 12 days of Christmas stumped most of us.
Sunday arrived – everyone hopped in and helped to get everything
ready – great teamwork. After a fantastic and filling lunch, the
raffles were drawn – Mal Hiscox was the winner of the ARB Christmas
Basket – Congratulations Mal. Then Santa arrived. Kids both big and
small got to sit on Santa’s lap – thank goodness the chair
was up to it.
Thanks very much to Santa, and Santa’s helpers – Brett and
Melissa Lynch for looking after the gift exchange. Thanks also to all those
who hopped in and helped, without you the day would not have been the success
that it was. Three cheers for everyone.

Ed note: Three really big cheers Carmel Joe & Elaine for making this
party weekend so much fun. Particularly enjoyed the trivia evening.
