Barefoot Bowling
11th March
What can I say - what a great night. There were 31 people who attended
the evening, with 28 of these playing barefoot bowls.
By 6.30pm most people had arrived. The next task was to decide the teams – there
were 6 teams of 4 to a side and 2 teams of 2 to a side. Some of the members
from North Ipswich Bowl’s club showed those who did not know how
to bowl how it was done. Even though none of the games were high scoring
everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Between 7.30 and 8.00pm nibblies were served and by 9.00pm the games were
over. We retired to the clubhouse for tea, coffee and a biscuit.
The club held a raffle – first prize was a $10 note and second was
a $5 note (each prize came with a kiss from Mavis). Mavis??? Well Mavis,
a sprightly 82, turned out to be the life of the party. She entertained
us with her songs, stories and ditties.
Who will forget Mavis???
Thankyou to all who attended
