Ten Pin Bowling & BBQ Night

7th August

Attendees: Beryl and Daryl, Glenn and Kaye, Elaine and John, Neil and Desley, Melissa, Brett, Declan and Hiromi (a Japanese exchange student), Eleni, Mario and Natalie, Joe, Carmel and Emily, David and Tom.

Firstly, a big thank-you to Beryl and Daryl for opening their home for the pre-bowls Bar-b-que, the evening commenced around 6.00pm with a Bar-b-que dinner followed by many lovely desserts. We really needed the bowls night to work off the lovely meal.

Around 8.45pm we moved on to Ipswich Superbowl for the bowling part of the night. We said goodbye to Elaine, John, Neil and Desley. Once there, we divided ourselves into three teams. In the first team were Beryl, Daryl, Glenn and Kaye (later joined by David and Tom), in the second team were Melissa, Brett, Joe, Carmel and Mario and in the third team were Natalie, Emily and Hiromi.

There was a Chup-a-Chup for strikes. Unfortunately we only had 15 – needless to say they didn’t last long. We also had two awards for the night, the first being the Silver Mug Award – for the highest game score – this was won by Mario with a score of 165. The second being the Wooden Spoon Award for the lowest game score – this was taken out by Melissa (this score will remain a secret). Glenn and Brett both had 7 strikes over the 3 games played.

The evening concluded a little before midnight.

Thanks to everyone who attended. I hope you had a great night – I know I did.
