A good roll up of new & older members.

Club members who went up early (Wednesday & Thursday) had done some track clearing of lantana before the Friday influx arrived.
We arrived before lunch on Friday just a few moments before Desley & Peter. Our motto is K.I.S. KEEP I T SIMPLE and it wasn’t long before we were set up & the kettle was whistling.
Friday afternoon for us was spent at Kilcoy hospital with a very sick Kevin Snell & a very worried Maralyn. After about 3 hours the staff decided the patient was well enough to go back to camp, arriving in time for happy hour & a quiet drink. Ian & Hanne had made a fruit damper and we all enjoyed it along with the chips & nibblies.
Friday night we were entertained with some stories by a Club member about a blow up doll and a medical product used to help older men. As he had a nice quiet voice he managed to entertain some nearby campers as well.
Saturday some went driving while we waited for the next group to arrive. Decisions, decisions, not 1 but 3 trips to choose from. With the lunch venue sorted out & 3 groups going different directions. One group doing some track clearing, another group going on a Four Wheel driving trip and the third group going to visit a nearby winery. Some of the ones who were going on the winery trip had a light lunch hoping to sample scones & coffee along with wine sampling. The walls of the coffee shop had many mounted heads of deer buffalo & hippos.
Saturday night Gordon & Lorraine entertained us with trivia pursuit questions. We were in the company of some intelligent people here. Daryl was lucky to win the prize in the stop the music game and we missed out on sampling the goodies. I tried to make a cheese & onion damper. I must say it wasn’t up to scratch. However everyone had a couple of pieces and I had no complaints.
How keen are some? Arriving before Sunday breakfast ready for a day trip. I was surprised when the group arrived. Some went on a short trip before packing up time. We went with Kevin doing some survey work with the GPS. After lunch Gordon led the day trippers in a different direction around the tracks. Ian & Hanne left early and set the trend for the camp to disperse.
All too soon we were packed up for the trip home leaving Jan & Gary to spend the evening alone with the white cockatoos, goannas and kangaroos. We had a straight trip home very relaxed &ready for the hectic weeks ahead.
